NEW MUSIC: KOJEY RADICAL

Bambu is the most recent release from London’s Kojey Radical, the innovative young man who floats effortlessly from writing poetic raps, to modelling, to creative directing/styling for fashion labels, and finally runs his own artistic platform, PUSHCRAYONS.

For someone who truly does it all, he is unflinchingly self-aware. While his words never fail to offer disarming insight into his mind and experience, they also act as a mirror, forcing us to look at ourselves and the world around us.

Listen. Think. Enjoy.

SONG OF THE WEEK

‘Breathing Underwater’ is the first release from Hiatus Kaiyote’s upcoming LP Choose Your Weapon, out May 5th. The Melbourne soul collective have been making significant noise locally as well as overseas for the last few years, even earning a Grammy nomination for their beautiful collaboration with Q-Tip, ‘Nakamarra.’

Their latest effort doesn’t disappoint; There is something rhythmic and enticing about this single, the incredible voice of Nai Palm taking you on a sonic journey through unpredictable and hypnotising terrain. The sound is layered and technical without ever losing it’s soul.

[Shown to me recently by a very dear friend who said this track has been his unfailing summer song.]

Very little is known about Swedish singer Kendal Johansson, but this cover of Big Star’s Blue Moon has received a lot of love since it’s 2010 release. He recently dropped another stunning track via Sincerely Yours – Check it out here.
