GOOD GIG: KANYE WEST @ THE ROD LAVER ARENA

Yeezus took us to church this past Tuesday night at The Rod Laver Arena here in Melbourne. It was less of a concert, more of a hip hop sermon, a chance for worship; Full of the energy and drama fans across the world have come to expect from the man who unflinchingly calls himself “A God.” People wanted a show and Kanye absolutely delivered.

For us, the night began at the very modest hour of 7pm because we wanted to catch the opener, Pusha T (one half of Virginia bred ‘Clipse’) who was due to start at 7.30pm. As we made our way into the huge – and still rather empty – arena, I could tell almost immediately that Pusha was going to get mediocre crowd energy, the majority were only there to bask in the enigmatic aura that is Kanye. Personally I was almost as hyped for Pusha as I was for Kanye – I love this dude. Continue reading
